What Love means to me

Love is different for different people. It is subjective, yet everywhere I go, all I can see is this emotion. I have seen many people confining love to one category- romantic. Now, I’m not saying that love is not a romantic emotion. But there’s so much more to this. Imagine you have had a long day at the office, and you get late in reaching home. You find your mother waiting for you with your dinner. Isn’t this love? My point is- love is universal, and can be found everywhere. You just have to have the eyes for it.

I remember, while growing up, at school, I used to hear about some of my classmates being in different ‘relationships’ almost every two to three months. At that time, little me thought that maybe this is how relationships are. Well, you couldn’t really blame me, can you? Actually, in a way they were relationships as at that time, we didn’t really know what an actual one is. As time passed, I grew up and so did my idea surrounding love and relationships. I looked around myself. I didn’t realise that I had so much of love already existing in my life- my parents, my grandparents, some of my friends who have become like family over the years, and the list goes on and on. I realised that you don’t really need to have a special someone in your life to feel loved. I mean it’s nice to have someone, but it’s also okay to not have one. Love yourself first. Be there for yourself. Celebrate and spread love with your loved ones.

SO, here’s wishing everyone a very HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY. LOVE. LIVE. EAT. LAUGH.
